InSITE highlights selected law-related World Wide Web sites in two ways: as an annotated publication issued electronically and in print; and as a keyword-searchable database.

The law librarians at Cornell evaluate potentially useful Web sites, select the most valuable ones, and provide commentary and subject access to them. These information can be accessed as following:

1998 On-line Directory of Law Reviews and Scholarly Legal Periodicals
URL: http://www.andersonpublishing.com/lawschool/directory/directory.html
This online version now replaces the hardcopy "Anderson's Directory..." The directory is limited to US-based peer-reviewed and trade journals, and excludes student-only journals and non-scholarly titles intended for practitioners. Addresses, phone and fax numbers are given for student-edited law reviews as well as general and special focus journals. The directory is searchable by subject area. Submission requirements are not included, so the prospective author might do well to consult Findlaw's directory (at http://www.findlaw.com/03journals/lawrevs.html) where some journals' homepages are accessible via hyperlinks.

BIS - Bank for International Settlements
URL: http://www.bis.org/publ/pub_list.htm
The Bank for International Settlements was founded in 1930 in The Hague and is the world's oldest international financial organization. A sub-page of the BIS home site (www.bis.org), this site contains monographs, journal issues, and press releases, available as PDF downloads. Gives complete lists of the publications of the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision (though not all have links), the Euro-Currency Standing Committee, and BIS Economic Papers and Working Papers, as well as other publications by BIS and the Group of Ten.

E.L.I.O. - Environmental Legal Information Online
URL: http://www.idg.fi.cnr.it/ita/idg/ambiente/ELIO.htm
Originating in Italy, this site is a gateway to the websites of a huge number of environmental organizations and interest groups around the world. Among them are the Central and Eastern European EcoDirectory Project, the Earth Council, the Eco-Justice Network, and the FAO. Arrangement is by organization name or by country. E.L.I.O also includes a collection of documents such as the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity, a link to transnational environmental law cases, and the full text of legislation from several Southeast Asian countries. A very comprehensive site that should be visited often.

European Commission of Human Rights: Reports
URL: http://www.dhcommhr.coe.fr/eng/repslist.htm
Contains the full text of complaints, such as police entrapment, and the refusal of the UK to permit transsexuals to marry, brought to the European Commission on Human Rights, beginning in January 1997. Texts are in English or French, and give the facts of the case and opinions delivered.

ISO - The International Organization for Standardization
URL: http://www.iso.org
The International Organization for Standardization (the acronym ISO is from the Greek "isos", meaning "equal") is a non-governmental organization founded in 1947 to establish international standards in technology and commerce. The website is surprisingly non-technical and user-friendly, and provides a history of the ISO, a list of its technical committees, its meeting calendar, procedures for technical work, and a catalogue of ISO publications and standards handbooks. The text of the site is also available in French.
