Contents: Founded in 1950, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR) is a premier civil rights coalition, and has coordinated a national legislative campaign on behalf of every major civil rights law since 1957. Civilrights.org is a collaboration of the LCCR and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund (LCCREF). Its mission: to serve as the site of record for relevant and up-to-the minute civil rights news and information. The civilrights.org website promotes the coalition’s campaigns and provides information for visitors on issues such as affirmative action, disability, education, housing and lending, immigration, and hate crimes. The site’s “Research Center” provides visitors with links to the text of landmark civil rights cases and important legislation. Under the “Publications” section, researchers may read the coalition’s published reports in PDF. The site is full-text searchable. |
