Contents: Health Policy Watch is a project of The Century Foundation. The Foundation, founded in 1919, is an organization that seeks to provide policymakers with new ideas for resolving the nation’s most challenging problems. Through the Health Policy website, the Foundation seeks to encourage reform in various aspects of health care, including delivery of care, Medicare, and prescription drugs. To this end, the site provides various publications, news and opinion items, and related research. While some of the publications must be ordered, many are available as a PDF download. Topics include Medicare costs, public health preparedness, and universal health coverage. The news and opinion section includes recent entries with one addressing the recent tsunami disaster. Other pieces are available as far back as 2001. Under related research, users will find various surveys and reports. One survey reports on views of the recent Medicare prescription law. Also available is a study showing a connection between health care costs and personal bankruptcies. |
