Contents: FraudWatch International seeks to reduce the incidence of fraud on the Internet, and to protect consumers from the perils of identity theft where personal and credit information is collected on the Internet by fraudulent and deceptive means. FraudWatch Internationalís website focuses on Lottery Scams, Nigerian 419 Scams, Phishing Scams, and OnLine Auction Fraud. The section on Lottery Scams describes the problem and provides lists of known and alleged fraudulent operators, as well as sample e-mail messages. Online Auction Fraud covers the major pitfalls and problems, along with preventative tips. The sections on Nigerian 419 scams and phishing scams likewise describe the fraudulent operations, and provide examples of the types of solicitations used. The phishing section is especially detailed and informative. FraudWatch Internationalís site has a very useful FAQ, and visitors can search the site easily. One complaint regarding this site would be the large number of advertisements.
