Contents: According to its website, "Equal Justice Works (formerly the National Association for Public Interest Law) was founded in 1986 by law students dedicated to working for equal justice on behalf of underserved communities and causes. Today, Equal Justice Works is the national leader in creating summer and postgraduate public interest opportunities for law students and lawyers as well as in urging more public interest programming at law schools." Aimed at attorneys, law students, and law schools, the Equal Justice Works website focuses heavily on providing information to law school graduates about how they can alleviate their onerous student loan debt. Here visitors may find information about loan repayment assistance programs (LRAPs), loan forgiveness, and other ways to finance a public interest education and career. Students may also find out about the Pro Bono Legal Corps (PBLC), a national program for lawyers from Equal Justice Works with funding by AmeriCorps. About half of the content on the Equal Justice Works is for members only. |
