Contents: The National Taxpayers Union (NTU), founded in 1969, seeks “to protect every American’s most fundamental right—the right to keep what they have earned.” Working as a non-profit, non-partisan organization, NTU seeks tax rate reduction, tax indexing, IRS reform, and defeat of Congressional pay raises. The website provides information about the Union and is a source for NTU publications and media. The Research section provides commentaries, issue briefs, and policy papers, many of which are available in PDF. Users can check the Media section for archived copies of NTU-sponsored advertisements. The site also provides NTU’s analysis of Congressional activity from 1995 to the current session. Spending and taxing bills are analyzed, and specific tallies by member are available. Each member is also assigned a Taxpayer Score—a high score means a member voted to spend less money. |
