Contents: An initiative of the University of the South Pacific School of Law, the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PILII) seeks to promote broad access to Pacific law. With assistance from the Australasian Legal Information Institute, PILII offers a database of primary materials obtained from South Pacific countries, which the PILII staff edits and posts. The site is organized by country from American Samoa to Vanuatu. Cases and law reports are provided, as well as legislation for many of the countries. Other links connect users to bar associations and explanations of individual country court systems and government structures. Other Pacific law materials are offered, including the Pacific Islands Treaty Series, Law Reports of the Commonwealth, and procedural rules for various South Pacific courts. A search feature is offered that can be narrowed to a specific country or document type. |
