Contents: Open CRS makes Congressional Research Service (CRS) reports accessible to the public. The Congressional Research Service works through the Library of Congress to provide research and analysis on legislative issues to Congress. In addition to meeting personally with Congressional members and their staff, CRS releases reports and issue briefs for members of Congress. Until recently, these reports have not been made publicly available. Open CRS seeks to provide the public with access to those tax-funded publications that exist in the public domain. A FAQ page provides interesting information on this process. To find specific CRS reports, the website provides a simple and effective keyword search interface. Additionally, Open CRS links to major collections of CRS reports by other organizations with a subject specific focus. Open CRS is Project of the Center for Democracy & Technology. |
