Contents: The National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing terrorism on U.S. soil or mitigating its effects. MIPT was established after the April 1995 bombing of the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City, and it is funded through the Department of Homeland Security's Office for State and Local Government Coordination and Preparedness (OSLGCP). The MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base is a comprehensive resource for research and analysis on global terrorist incidents, terrorism-related court cases, and terrorist groups and leaders. The Knowledge Base takes users through the history, affiliations, locations, and tactics of the terrorism entities operating across the world at this moment. Its database features interactive maps, biographies on key terrorist personalities, dynamic graphs, and succinct summaries regarding who and what is operating inside the world of terrorism today. The Knowledge Base provides visitors with a virtual tour on how to use the database, and an extensive FAQ. |
