Contents: "Picturing Justice" is an online journal published by a group of law professors, devoted to the image of law and lawyers in film and television. Includes
commentaries on current legal-themed films (e.g. "Jackie Brown," "Amistad"), older films ("Adam's Rib", "The Ox-Bow Incident"), and television series, articles on
such topics as lynch mobs in trial movies, "legal Westerns", and whether law films are anti-lawyer. Throughout the site are observations on the portrayal of women
lawyers. There is also a bibliography of law review articles, announcements of symposia on law and film, and a public commentary section. Although accessible to the
layperson, this website isn't just fluff: there are links to many important law-related Internet sites. The webmasters invite submissions of reviews, essays and commentary. |
