Contents: A reference directory compiled by the energetic law librarian Lyonette Louis-Jacques of the University of Chicago. The first section contains links to the text of articles and news stories from the American and European press on efforts to trace and reclaim gold and other assets seized from Jewish people by the Nazis and deposited in Swiss banks. There are links to similar Internet resources pertaining to Switzerland and France, including the Swiss Banks' Dormant Account List (http://dormantaccounts.ch). A second section lists pertinent decrees, laws, and international agreements, and related American, Swiss and international agencies, e.g. the World Jewish Restitution Association. At present there are few links to the laws or agencies, but they can be accessed via the related internet resources. Also includes a bibliography of books, articles, and government documents. In all, a valuable resource. |
