Contents: The Law and Population Database provides web access to information published 1974-1995 in the Annual Review of Population Law, produced jointly by Harvard Law School and the United Nations Population Fund to make available to the public important legal information on regulation of population growth and distribution. The source of the material is legislation, constitutions, court decisions, and other official government documents from around the world, presented in this database as summaries or in excerpt. The concept of Population is very broad, from general population policies to an emphasis on reproductive health and women's rights, and including immigration, AIDS/HIV, and agrarian reform. The database can be searched by country, keyword, or year with boolean searching and truncation options. Full text of documents is not currently available online; contact information for the ARPL is given for requesting specific documents. The database information is all in English, although the actual documents may not be in English. Editors hope to have full text of important documents on the web in the future. |
