Contents: Project DIAL (Development of the Internet for Asian Law) is a feasibility study or prototype designed to assess the potential of the Internet for aiding those involved with the promulgation of legislation in the over fifty Developing Member Countries (DMCs) of the Asian Development Bank. This site provides several searchable indexes of law in categories such as development law (including, e.g., telecommunications, privatization, environmental law), legislation, parliament, law reform, and international agreements. Over 50,000 documents from over twenty countries are represented, with most material in English. Another feature of the site, although password restricted, is DIALogue, an e-mail facility for authorized users in DMCs to share information related to legislation. The site also provides a project report which details the strategies and goals of the Asian Development Bank in its effort to improve the social, economic, and legal structures of its member countries.
