Contents: Devoted to focusing public attention on emerging civil liberties issues and to protecting privacy, the First Amendment, and constitutional values, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) was established in Washington D.C. in 1994. EPIC is a public interest research center and a project of the Fund for Constitutional Government, a non-profit charitable organization. The organization’s web page is useful to the legal researcher looking for a bibliographic approach to topics such as free speech, cryptography, computer security, privacy, and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). In addition to these resources and guides, visitors to the site may browse links to recent events pertinent to the organization’s interests. They may also read documents and commentary regarding EPIC’s legal activities, which include extensive FOIA work. This small site is straight-forward and devoid of frames, and graphic use is minimal. The search engine was not available when visited for review. |
