Contents: The Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner, empowered by the Australian Privacy Act 1988, is an independent office whose purpose is to promote an Australian culture that respects privacy. The Commissioner's web site includes full text of the Privacy Act 1988 and other related laws such as the Telecommunications Act of 1997, Data-matching Program Act of 1990, and the Crimes Act of 1914. Full text information technology and Internet publications concerning workplace email, Internet privacy, and cryptography are provided. Public Interest Determinations and discussion of how to lodge and resolve a complaint are also available.
