Contents: The Hague Convention of 25 October 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction is a multilateral treaty establishing a procedure for the return of children abducted by a parent across international boundaries. The International Child Abduction database (INCADAT) was established by the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law in order to provide access to many of the leading judicial decisions made by national courts worldwide with respect to the 1980 Hague Convention. Users can approach INCADAT by way of either a simple search or an advanced search, both of which allow for fielded searching and full text searching. Help files are available to assist the novice. Those who prefer topical browsing to searching may access INCADAT via the alphabetically-arranged subject keyword list. Full case summaries are available only to users who are registered; registration and use of the database are free of charge. INCADAT is presented in both English and French.
