Contents: Chris Hedley, a Ph.D student at Cardiff Law School, has created the Internet Guide to International Fisheries Law, intending it to serve as "an on-line reference manual for international fisheries law and related issues concerning fisheries and the international law of the sea." The site is comprised of six sections: texts, cases, a directory of international fisheries organizations, a glossary of fisheries terms, an "Internet pathfinder" with links to related websites, and a monthly news bulletin. The "Texts" section is a collection of full text treaties, conventions and agreements concerning international fisheries, marine mammals and related subjects. Most of the texts are accompanied by a summary of useful information including the date and place of adoption of the agreement, the date of entry into force, the principal objectives of the agreement, and the names of the signatories. The "Cases" section includes judgments from a selection of fisheries-related cases from the International Court of Justice and the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea. The site is available in both frames and no-frames versions. A search engine offers both simple keyword searching and a more sophisticated "advanced" search. |
