Contents: The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE)is "an umbrella organization of 72 refugee-assisting organizations in 28 countries," concerned with refugees and asylum seekers in Western Europe. The website contains some United Nations materials, but is principally focused on developments and policies within the European Union, such as commentary, proposals, and directives. Research papers produced by the ECRE are posted in Word or PDF format. A "Report on Legal and Social Conditions for Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Western European Countries" provides legal standards and policies by country. Also included are links to other jurisprudence websites, both general legal sites and those dealing with refugee law, which are arranged by country and include non-European states. This is a modest but useful resource for the study of current European refugee and asylum policy.
