Contents: The State Alcohol Law section of the University of Minnesota Alcohol Epidemiology Program (AEP) posts the texts of alcohol-related legislation passed since 1997. The user can search by state, date, or category, including topics such as advertising, drunk driving, retail sales, and distribution. When a search is successful, the screen displays a list of the bills, dates introduced and enacted, legislative history and summary of text, and a link to the full text in HTML. The user can also access related web pages of interest maintained by the AEP, including a section devoted to alcohol control policies, model local ordinances, with background on their purpose and efficacy, "Resources and Tools," which includes a manual for legal compliance checks and a pathfinder for research into alcohol law, and an order form for 20 years of articles on alcohol policy, principally from health-related journals but with law-related emphasis. |
