Contents: This website is a project of the Health Law Department at the Boston University School of Public Health and the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights. It is principally concerned with human-rights aspects of medicine, biomedical research and treatment, and patients' rights. The creators oppose the participation of physicians in both government-sponsored torture and executions. The website contains audio and video clips of the medical trials at Nuremburg; a health and human rights database, with links to many organizations (including those in aid of women, children, and gay people); a database of worldwide policies on cloning, stem-cell ("germ-line"), and genetic research, with links to the text of legislation, decrees, and statements by authoritative bodies. Legal and medical professionals who work with refugees and asylum seekers should especially read the section on "Caring for Refugees and Survivors of Torture," for effective and considerate methods of interviewing subjects.
