Contents: The National Consumer Coalition (NCC) is an association of nonprofit membership organizations which works to expose government policies that restrict consumer choice and stifle competition. The NCC Privacy Group brings together NCC members active in issues relating to consumer privacy with other member groups and think tanks that understand the importance the free market and consumer choice. The Privacy Group’s webpage is directed at the general public, and provides news, analysis, and related links for site visitors. A nice feature of the site includes reviews of privacy-promoting online tools. The site discusses the controversies surrounding privacy issues, including such topics as government surveillance, medical privacy, financial privacy, and online privacy. The site also has a fun feature called “Heroes and Villains,” which discusses current events and their impact on consumer privacy. While this site doesn’t provide a lot of research material, it is a useful stop for news and commentary.
