Contents: Through BusinessLaw.gov, the Small Business Administration (SBA) provides legal and regulatory information to America's small businesses. The site gathers important information or links to such information in one place, provides “plain English guides” on topics from running a business to getting legal help, and links to federal and state laws and regulations. The “How do I…” link gives practical answers to questions such as how to get certain forms or how to get an SBA loan. Business owners can use “wizards” that ask a series of questions to determine if the business qualifies for assistance, if the business is organized appropriately, and if it meets the North American Industry Classification Code definition for “small business.” Small businesses can find regulatory compliance assistance, and keep track of pending laws or rules that might affect them. The site has a search engine and presents information in a standard format across federal and state jurisdictions. The home page is rather busy but well-organized and clearly announces all the choices available to small business owners or entrepreneurs visiting the site. |
