Contents: A service of the Cornell Labor And Social Policy Project, the Globalization and Labor Standards Bibliographic Database (GALS) posts lengthy abstracts of articles published in English-language law journals on issues in labor standards in the global economy. Topics covered include child labor, NAFTA, the WTO, the ILO, forced labor, and women's rights. Each abstract is accompanied by the complete bibliographic citation plus hyperlinked subject headings. The archive can be browsed or searched by author, title, subject, keyword, journal title, or date, selecting from a complete author list or a brief list of subject headings (presumably as time goes on the list will be expanded). GALS also publishes a newsletter, consisting of the most recent abstracts, and an electronic mailing list which will e-mail similar abstracts on a monthly basis. (To subscribe, send an e-mail to listinfo@postoffice.law.cornell.edu, with an empty subject line and the message , e.g. . Instructions are also found at the end of the newsletter.) The newsletter is edited by Prof. Katherine Van Wezel Stone of the Cornell University Law School and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and should prove to be a useful current-awareness service for specialists in international labor law and globalization.
