Contents: The Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email (CAUCE) is a volunteer-based advocacy group that promotes legislation to ban junk e-mail or “spam.” The CAUCE website describes the organization, offers their perspective on the issue of spam, provides a FAQ and selection of press releases, and documents incidents of spamming. Legal researchers will find of interest the page of resources for Congress members and their staff, and the section on pending legislation. The “Resources for Hill Staff” page contains, in addition to a well-written advocacy piece laying out the organization’s mission, transcripts of CAUCE’s testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives and the Federal Trade Commission. The “Pending Legislation” page proffers CAUCE’s analysis of and response to proposed legislation regarding junk e-mail. This page does not, however, link to or reprint the pending legislation. |
